Park run 5km

The 5KM Park Run

The Park Run is part of a national series of free of charge runs organised solely by volunteers. Runs are timed and all are welcome. This takes place at Hanley Park every Saturday at 9.00am

You can find specific information on this here Park Run

Stoke 10k

The Stoke 10k

This is a relatively new event for the City that has now taken place 3 times, Sponsored by Nuffield Health and growing each year with around 1,000 sign ups in 2015.

The run starts and finishes in Hanley Park and usually takes place in September.

There is a DJ and stalls at the start/finish area and also free parking at Caulden college. Interestingly for 2015 the Sentinel described it on their front page as the “perfect 10k” and it has all the makings of just that. It’s well organised and the route is closed to traffic, you are taken through the City Centre and then head to Shelton, Fenton and up vicky road (passed McDonalds which is hard for some) before heading back to the finish.

Relatively flat for Stoke, there is a big hill at the 8km mark at Lichfield street but other than that its not too hard.

More information can be found here Stoke 10k

Potters Arf (Half Marathon)

The Potters Arf (Half Marathon)

This is the biggest and most established running event in the city with around 1,500 local runners taking part each year.

If your from Stoke you’ll of heard of this event.

Known for being a bit of a killer in terms of the hills the potters arf has a mighty reputation and raises a fortune for the Dougy Mac.

The course covers a wide area of the City, Hanley, Vicky Road, Anchor road!!! to name but a few stops offs.

Well supported and also back by many local running clubs if you are a half marathon runner who likes a tough one then no doubt this is for you
